Motorists travelling into Bradford via the A647 Stanningley bypass faced major travel disruption this morning after the road was closed in both directions due to an accident.
The incident occurred between the A657 Henconner Lane junction and A6110 Ring Road Bramley junction at about 6.40am.
Two vehicles were involved, with one man pulled from his car by firefighters and placed in the care of paramedics.
Police and firefighters, including a crew from Bradford, were called the scene and the road remained closed until 11.30am with heavy queuing traffic in both directions.
Meanwhile, emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision at a busy city centre junction in Bradford during this morning’s rush-hour.
The incident, which involved a Toyota and BMW, occurred at the junction of Mill Lane and Manchester Road at about 7.40am.
A police spokesman said that no injuries had been reported, but that fire and ambulance services were at the scene.
