Police have urged members of the public to let them know immediately if they see a mental health patient who went missing this afternoon.

Ian Fishwick, 64, was last seen leaving the Tesco store in Bradford Road, Brighouse at around 3.20pm.

Mr Fishwick is a patient at Cygnet House in Wyke, and police think he might be making his way to Blackpool.

He is described as white, around 5' '7" tall, of medium build with short grey hair. He was last seen wearing blue tracksuit bottoms, a blue t-shirt and a denim jacket. He is described as having a Lancashire accent and uses a walking stick.

Inspector Darren Wainwright said: "Mr Fishwick is originally from the Greenacres area of Oldham but may be making his way to Blackpool.

"If anyone sees a man matching Mr Fishwick's description, they are advised not to approach him but to call police immediately. Details should be passed to West Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting log reference 1084 of 2 April 2014."
