Bradford’s City Park turned blue in support of World Autism Awareness Day today.
The fountains in the park and City Hall were colourfully illuminated for the occasion along with other iconic landmarks throughout the world to draw attention to the ‘Light it up Blue’ campaign.
A pop-up shop and exhibition pitched up in Market Street for the day and Bradford Community Broadcasting dedicated a one-hour show for sufferers to share their experiences to raise awareness of the developmental disability affecting how a person communicates with and relates to other people and the world around them.
The campaign highlights the pressing need for greater public education and awareness of autism in our community.
