A planning application has been submitted seeking listed building consent for refurbishment and alterations to a historic mansion.

Resident, Azra Jamil, has applied to Bradford Council for listed building consent for the work at Heathcote, on Kings Road, Ilkley.

Council planners approved a planning application in 2012 to return the Edwin Lutyens-designed property back to its original use as a house.

The 1906-built Grade II* listed building, in its own landscaped grounds, was previously used as offices by major Ilkley-based service company, NG Bailey. The firm is now based at Denton Hall.

The proposal involves various alterations to almost all the rooms in the building, and external alterations including replacement of several windows, restoration of the east apse columns and timber pergola, and reinstatement of part of the side garden.

A heritage statement accompanying the plan has revealed Heathcote is currently under consideration for being listed as a Grade I heritage building.
