A heritage garden is being created on land next to Karmand Community Centre in Barkerend.
Otley Road and Barkerend Environment Group has teamed up with the Bradford East area co-ordinator’s office on the project.
Pupils from Carlton Bolling College will carry out further work tomorrow to make wooden raised beds, finish painting tyre planters and removing weeds.
Local residents and older people will plant flowers and herbs which will be harvested later to create tasty dishes, herbal remedies and natural beauty products.
