Temporary traffic lights and speed restrictions will be in place on a section of Whitehall Road in Cleckheaton on Saturday while work is carried out on a manhole by Yorkshire Water.
Camera investigations have identified that the sewer under the road is ageing and could cause problems in the future if it is not brought up to standard now.
The work on the A58 Whitehall Road, opposite Cleckheaton Golf Course, will take place between 9.30am and 5pm, when the team will reline the sewer.
Two-way traffic lights will be in place during the work and the speed limit will be reduced to 30mph between the signals.
The work is part of a £1.3 million project by the company to reduce the risk of pollution, with about 200 sewers renewed across Yorkshire that had the potential to leak or crack in the near future.
