A building society has ridden into the good books of a disabled horse riding charity with a £1,200 donation.

Riding For The Disabled will use the cash, from the Yorkshire Building Society’s Charitable Foundation, to help set up stable management and carriage driving courses.

Staff at the YBS’s Shipley branch nominated the charity, which is based at the St Ives Estate in Bingley, for the donation.

Riding For The Disabled is working with Bradford Council and local businesses to convert the coach house into a suitable location to offer the classes.

Louise Forbes, from the YBS’s Shipley branch, said: “One of the charity’s volunteers has been a customer of ours for some time and often tells us all about all the great work the charity is doing – she really inspires us to want to find some way to help.”
