Parents and children with visual impairments will be able to share stories thanks to Bradford Council’s library service.

The service has introduced large print and Braille children’s picture books to Keighley, Shipley and Manningham libraries.

The 30 titles, including pre-school classics such as Dear Zoo and Kipper’s Toybox, will be available to borrow for free for a maximum of three weeks. Schools or groups wanting to introduce children to Braille or large print books will be able to borrow up to 25 books for 12 weeks at a time.

Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe the Council’s executive member for employment, skills and culture, said: “We are keen to ensure that all children have access to books and these new Braille and large print picture books will help parents and grandparents to share these fabulous stories with children.”
