Two men involved with a cannabis farm at a house in Bradford have been given suspended prison sentences.

Asaan Zahir, 27, of Parsonage Road, West Bowling, Bradford, was given an 18-month sentence suspended for two years, with an order for low level activity and 200 hours unpaid work.

Sahir Hussain, 28, of Laverton Road, East Bowling, Bradford, was given a 12-month sentence suspended for two years, with an order for medium level activity and 180 hours unpaid work.

Prosecutor Camille Morland told Bradford Crown Court yesterday that Zahir rented the property in Parsonage Road and allowed it to be used for growing cannabis. Hussain was the gardener.

Miss Morland said there 40 plants in the cannabis farm and 1.8 kilograms of skunk with a street value of £18,000.

Judge Jonathan Rose said it was clear that a great deal of the cannabis flooding the streets came from such small farms.
