The head coach of Bradford Bulls Wheelchair Rugby League club has taught students at Bradford College the ins and outs of the game.

Richard Johnson, who was appointed to the position in 2006, visited the college and gave an inspiring talk and practical rugby coaching sessions to pupils on the sport and physical activity BSc course.

Lecturer Arvy Kaur, commenting on his visit to the college, said: "The students at Bradford College were eager to participate in a Wheelchair Rugby League session and Richard volunteered his services.

“I think the students have really enjoyed the session, it is now time to reflect and establish how we can become better coaches."

Sport student Christian McGuiness, 28, was given the opportunity to play Wheelchair Rugby League and said: “I’ve really enjoyed the game, it’s been really good fun.

“It’s also given me further insight into how difficult it can be to manoeuvre the chairs; it’s going to take time and lots of practice to get good at it.”
