An 18-year-old Bradford man, involved in a “deep, hereditary feud,” punched a relative outside a mosque, a court heard.
Muntazir Shah confronted Saqvi Shah as he sat in a car, Bradford Crown Court was told yesterday.
Prosecutor Kathryn Stuckey said Muntazir approached the other man in an aggressive manner and tried to punch him in the face through the open car window.
The complainant moved his head out of the way, but Shah punched him five times to the chest and shoulder. The victim suffered bruising, reddening and a scratch.
Shah, of Little Horton Lane, Bradford, admitted assault by beating and breaching an anti-social behaviour order.
Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC sentenced Shah to a 12-month community order, with a medium level activity and 120 hours unpaid work. He made a new ASBO and granted a restraining order.
