Vicky Reader is trying to drum up support to reach the final of a national contest.
The percussionist has entered the Hit Like A Girl female drumming competition, open to female drummers.
Vicky hopes to become one of five to 10 ‘wild card’ finalists chosen from each age group according to votes cast during the public voting period, lasting until tomorrow.
Vicky has been playing since she was 10 and drums for acoustic musician/songwriter Jake Smallbones, pop singer/songwriter Jess Thristan and metal band Pulverise.
“Hopefully, the contest will inspire more females to pick up those sticks and take up drums,” she said.
