Baildon Players will be tickling the ribs with their next production, a comedy that inspired a TV sitcom.

Father’s Day, by Eric Chappell, centres around Henry Willows, a lonely divorcee who is visited one night by this wayward son, Matthew, and his odd girlfriend, Christine.

When Henry’s former wife, Sue, turns up there follows a stormy reconciliation taking place over the course of one evening.

The play was the forerunner to the YTV series Home to Roost, starring John Thaw and Reece Dinsdale.

Father’s Day runs at St John’s Church Hall, Baildon, from March 25-29 at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from Adress, Browgate, Baildon.
