VIDEO: Students’ films focus on anti-smoking themes

Short films encouraging people to stub out their cigs and get more healthy have been created by Queensbury pupils.
Students at Queensbury School had a day of filming, editing and premiering their short anti-smoking films.
They will be entered in the National Cut Films 2014 Short Film Competition – and hope to emulate last year’s event when students travelled down to London to scoop an award.
The object of the competition is to make films that put people off smoking. It is open to anyone aged under 25 and closes on May 2.
School enterprise co-ordinator Rahila Hussain said: “We had cameras, but a lot of the kids just used their mobile phones. They are so inventive with how they use them. It was a lovely way to explore what is a serious issue.”
