One-year-old Freddie will be making his stage debut at an opera in Bradford this week.
The chihuahua, who belongs to five-year-old Grace Trotter from Idle, has been chosen to appear in a production of La Boheme at St George’s Hall on Thursday.
Grace’s mum Louise, read in the Telegraph & Argus about an appeal for a dog to appear in the show, by the Chisinau National Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra, and put the family’s pooch forward. Producers were so impressed they offered Freddie the role.
Louise will also get her chance to tread the boards, as she is required to go on stage in costume to look after Freddie during the performance.
Tickets are on (01274) 432000.
