The man was arrested this morning on suspicion of making or supplying an article for use in fraud.

Detectives launched an investigation, and the Bradford-based supermarket giant began an urgent review of its internal data security, after the Telegraph & Argus informed the company of the alleged theft of confidential data.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Hooks, of West Yorkshire Police, said today: "An employee of Morrisons has been arrested in Leeds this morning in connection with an investigation into the theft of data from the company. He is currently in custody."
