Firefighters have found a man dead at a flat fire in Manningham, Bradford.
Fire crews made the tragic discovery after being called out to a blaze at a ground-floor flat in Mornington Villas this afternoon.
They contacted the police and ambulance service.
The firefighters, from Bradford and Fairweather Green fire stations, also found a pan on fire on a hob.
But Bradford watch commander Mark Whitaker said the blaze was small and had not caused much damage to the flat.
Police and fire investigation officers have begun an investigation into the man’s death but early indications suggest the fire may not have been the cause.
The alarm was raised after the building’s smoke detector was set off, which alerted people living in the building’s other flats.
