T-shirts will carry art by prize artist
A painter shortlisted for a 2013 Artist of the Year competition has produced a new work for the Tour de France.
Peter Holt, of Otley, has submitted a striking image of a cyclist, taking his inspiration from early 20th Century French poster designs, as a T-shirt template for the Yorkshire in Yellow project.
The scheme, to celebrate Le Tour’s visit to Yorkshire this July, invited artists and designers to come up with their own tribute to the race’s famous yellow jersey.
The T-shirts will go on display during Sheffield Design Week in June.
