Jobseekers are invited to a series of free drop-in events being run by social housing group Incommunities to help them into work, training or to set up in business.

Skilled advisers from the housing group will be offering advice on job search techniques, CV writing, interview skills, work experience opportunities, training options and ways to get a business idea off the ground. There will also be free money management advice available.

There are three help and advice events which run 10am-4pm on: Wednesday, March 19, at Farish House in the communal lounge, South Street, Keighley; Thursday, March 20, at City House, in the second floor chamber room; in Cheapside, Bradford; and Friday, March 21, in the Heaton rooms in The Quays, Victoria Street, Shipley.

Steve Short, director of Incommunities – Open Field, said: “The labour market remains difficult and at Incommunities we are committed to helping people access jobs, skills training and enterprise opportunities. Our specialist team of advisers will be on hand to give key advice to help people make the right move in their lives.

“This latest Open Field initiative follows the success of the city centre pop-up shop, which had over 300 visits over four weeks from people looking for work or help to start up in business.”

Since 2009 Open Field staff have helped nearly 2,000 people into employment.
