A district councillor who previously revealed all for a good cause is preparing to make another eye-catching statement.
Councillor Glen Miller has volunteered to be sponsored to wear a woman’s dress at a Haworth shop’s charity fashion show in aid of the Sue Ryder Manorlands hospice in Oxenhope.
“I’ve no idea what response it will get,” said the Tory group leader on Bradford Council. “But with the nature of the cause we’re supporting, I’d hope plenty of people do get on board.”
Coun Miller was one of three elected members to strip off for a calendar in 2011 to back Haworth Parish Church’s restoration appeal.
Fashion show organiser Nikki Carroll said: “We’re absolutely delighted he’s helping to raise money for something so dear to everybody.”
The show takes place in Haworth Community Centre at 7pm on April 7. Tickets, priced £6, are available from Firth’s Boutique in Haworth Main Street.
