A man has died after his car hit a lamp-post on an M62 slip-road near Brighouse today.
The 58-year-old driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident happened at about 2.45am at junction 25 (Brighouse), on a slip-road on the westbound side of the motorway.
Police want any witnesses to the crash, or anyone who saw the car - a Renault Megane - being driven prior to the collision, to come forward.
In particular, officers would like to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle travelling south on the M606 from Bradford towards the M62, or anyone on the M62 westbound between Bradford and Brighouse between 2.20am and 2.45am.
The driver was from Huddersfield, said police.
Any witnesses, or anyone with information, can contact PC Russ Windross in the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101.
