Licensees have been praised for retaining a pub’s character following a major refurbishment.
The Yew Tree Inn, Otley, has re-opened after a two-week revamp by owners Punch Taverns and licensees Barry and Linda Tomlinson. Roger Blackburn and Brian Bentley, customers at the Newall Carr Road pub since 1972, cut the ribbon.
Mr Tomlinson said: “The pub has been redecorated in a traditional style, giving it a fresher look.”
Otley Pub Club’s honorary president, Leeds North West Lib Dem MP Greg Mulholland said: “Congratulations to Linda and Barry on the excellent refurbishment. It has retained the character of the pub, which is included in CAMRA’s Yorkshire’s Heritage Pubs.”
