A golf club raised £3,500 for a hearing charity which helped its president’s daughter.
John Claughton chose to support The Ear Trust, which was founded by ear, nose and throat consultant Professor Chris Raine to support the work done at the Yorkshire Cochlear Implant Service, based at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
He and the lady president of South Bradford Golf Club, Bernie Waite, fundraised for a year.
Mr Claughton, of Birstall, said: “Chris Raine has treated my daughter, Sarah Claughton, for the last 32 years, so with the help and support of all the members of South Bradford Golf Club, this was a fabulous opportunity for me to give something back.
“The money was raised throughout 2013 with many personal donations from South Bradford Golf Club members. We also organised a charity golf day and auction with the help and donations from local golf clubs and businesses.”
