A sailing display is set to form one of the highlights of this year's Otley Show.

Wharfedale Agricultural Society, following a very wet 2013 show, is hoping for some warm, dry weather when it stages the traditional event on Saturday, May 17.

The oldest one-day agricultural show in the country will as always feature displays of livestock, horses, pets, produce, handicrafts and floral art.

Details on how to enter all of those classes, along with schedules, are available now from the show offices at 15 Bridge Street or, to download, from www.otleyshow.org.uk .

Other attractions will include a Tour de France themed display by Otley Cycle Club, a Sheep Show, birds of prey and lurcher displays, and live music from Otley Brass Band.

Show secretary Janet Raw is promising something "for all the family".

She said: “We were delighted when Otley Sailing Club agreed to give a display on the lake within the showground.

"Our main attractions are now in place and include The Stampede Stunt Display Team performing their Gulliver’s Carnival new trick riding, with four professional stunt riders and horses in unique costumes.”

Otley Show membership costs £23 which includes three admission tickets, a car pass, and use of the the exclusive facilities available in the marquee.

Advance individual tickets can also be booked on the website and cost £7 for adults, £4 for senior citizens and £2 for children.

Tickets on the day will cost £8 for adults, £6 for senior citizens and £3 for children.

There will also be a £2 parking fee.
