An event to explain the complexities of Parliament and featuring Shipley MP Philip Davies takes place in the town’s Kirkgate Centre from 7pm tomorrow.
After an overview of Parliament's work and how it influences transport, health, education, planning and development and the work of local government, Mr Davies will discuss his work as MP for the area.
Organised by the Parliamentary Outreach service together with Shipley and Bingley Voluntary Services, the session will also look at parliamentary material available on sustainable development including select committee reports, briefing papers on current legislation and other subjects produced by the House of Commons Library.
“We are delighted Philip Davies MP is joining us at the Outreach event which will give local residents the opportunity to find out about how parliament works and the resources available that help to inform, engage and inspire people to exercise their democratic rights,” said Shaun O'Hare of Shipley and Bingley Voluntary Services.
The event is free and open to the public. To reserve a space contact Sarah Moss at sarahmoss@sbvs.org.uk or (01274) 781222.
