Cleckheaton’s Central Day Centre in Mortimer Street opens its doors every Wednesday to help combat loneliness in the community.
It regularly welcomes 40 to 50 members aged from 35 to 90 – relying entirely on its volunteers and a grant from Kirkless Council.
It costs users £6 per session which include a lift to and from their homes.
The centre reaches out to people living across the Cleckheaton area.
