The Rugby Football League met the administrator running Bradford Bulls today but said there was “no specific timescale” to find new owners for the Super League club.

The Bulls entered administration on January 31 and were docked six points as punishment last Tuesday, prompting Bradford Bulls 2014 Ltd chairman Mark Moore and co-directors Andrew Calvert and Ian Watt to withdraw their bid to buy the club.

Blake Solly, the RFL’s director of standards and licensing, met Leeds-based administrator David Wilson today and said a number of groups had expressed an interest in buying the Bulls.

So far, only London-based Richard Lamb has made his interest public but it is understood there are four different parties vying to take control.

Mr Lamb also held talks with the administrator today and is due to meet Mr Solly in Leeds on Friday.

Mr Solly said: “Everyone wants to find a buyer as soon as possible but the administrator and the RFL don’t want to tie things down to a specific timescale.

“We just want to speak to those people who are interested and find the right party to produce a viable future for the Bulls. The RFL is in constant dialogue with the administrator.”

Mr Lamb said: “I was pleased with today’s meeting with David and hope that we can build an achievable plan that works from both the administrators and RFL’s point of view.

“I now plan to meet the RFL and put together a formal bid either later this week or the start of next week.”

Meanwhile, in a bitter war of words, Mr Moore accused the governing body of misleading the club throughout their dealings, with RFL chief operating officer Ralph Rimmer laying the blame for the crisis at the directors' failure to fulfil their promise to purchase the club from former owner Omar Khan.

The three directors have started legal proceedings for defamation, claiming Mr Rimmer effectively accused them of lying, and Mr Moore has called on the RFL to issue an apology.

An RFL spokesman said: “There will be no public response but we will respond to Moore's lawyers appropriately.”
