Dodge ball, trampolining, handball and tag rugby are just some of the sports on offer at new after-school clubs.

Bradford Council’s Sports and Leisure Service is putting on the sessions, called Base Clubs, for children aged five to 11 following the success of its week-long school holiday clubs.

Other activites on offer include tennis, football, basketball, badminton and athletics.

Children can either sign up and pay £15 for the full six week course or turn up on a pay-as-you-play basis for £3. Passport to Leisure card holders can enrol on the full course for £10 or pay £2 per session.

The clubs will run at Manningham Sports Centre on Mondays, Keighley Leisure Centre on Wednesdays, the Richard Dunn Sports Centre on Thursdays and Nab Wood Sports Centre on Fridays.

Limited places are available so booking is advised, by contacting the relevant leisure centre.

Councillor Andrew Thornton said: "These after school clubs are a great way for children to try new sports, improve their sporting skills and make new friends in a safe and enjoyable environment.

"I’m sure they will have lots of fun.”
