An 88-year-old woman is being treated in hospital after being dragged to the ground during a daylight street robbery.
The pensioner was walking along an alleyway in Shipley on Friday when she was dragged to the floor by a man who stole her handbag.
She is currently being treated in hospital, but a police spokesman said her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
The robbery happened at around 9.50am in the alleyway running between the Asda car park and Westcliffe Road, behind Westcliffe Medical Centre.
Detectives are now appealing for information.
Three people went to her aid after the robbery, but officers would like to hear from anyone else who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious.
The bag was a brown shoulder bag with a chrome-effect pattern on the front.
