Fall in number of 'NEETs'

The number of young people aged 16 to 24 not in education, employment or training (NEET) in Yorkshire and the Humber dropped to its lowest level of the year in the final quarter of 2013.
Figures released by the Department for Business Innovation and Skills and the Department for Education show there were 112,000 NEETs at the end of 2013 – compared with 113,000 at the start of the year.
The number had climbed to 123,000 and 132,000 in the middle quarters of the year. It was 111,000 at the end of 2012.
Nationally, the number of NEETs was at its lowest since 2008.
