Hundreds of pupils at Belle Vue Girls’ School in Bradford helped decide who will be representing them at an upcoming regional music competition.

The Thorn Lane school held its leg of the Association of Music and Production Awards with more than 300 pupils and six music groups taking part.

The competition is a battle of the bands with a difference – as well as different music groups competing, they are backed up by a team of their schoolmates who help market the band and provide behind-the-scenes support.

The school chose year ten rock band Crude to represent the school at the regional final in St George’s Hall in April. Belle Vue is one of six local schools taking part.

Head teacher Mary Copeland said: “There were six bands and with the team behind it there were 300 pupils involved. We wish the winners every success in the final.”
