7:09pm Sunday 16th February 2014 in News
Police are appealing for witnesses after a ‘distraction theft’ in Birstall.
Two adults with a child entered a shop on Low Lane at 4pm last Wednesday and distracted staff while stealing cash from a purse. Two further incidents happened earlier in the day at premises on Huddersfield Road and Sunnybank Road in Mirfield. At each location the woman distracted staff. As she did this, the young boy ran around the store and the man allegedly took the items.
The woman is in her 20s or 30s and 5ft 3in. The man is in his late-20s to mid-30s, and the child is thought to be five to ten. All are thought to be Eastern European. Call police on 101.
