A pioneering school golfing scheme will be offered to older pupils this year.

Prince Henry's Grammar School at Otley is teaming up with Cookridge Hall Golf Club to offer a new Golf Programme to students aged 16 and over.

The course, which will see participants study golf – with a view to pursuing a potential career in the sport – alongside their A-level or BTec studies, does not launch until September.

An open evening to explain more about it will take place at Cookridge Hall from 7.30pm on Tuesday, March 11.

Deputy headteacher at Prince Henry’s, Chris Rowbottom, who is leading the programme for the school, said: "This will allow students to develop their golfing potential alongside their academic skills, while allowing them a more balanced life.”
