The Good Food Advice Stall in the Oastler Shopping Centre will be going bananas to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight.

People will be able to make their own drinks using Fairtrade ingredients on a smoothie bike at the event on Saturday, March 1.

There will also be cookery demonstrations from Jamie’s Ministry of Food Bradford.

Aimeth Angulo a Fairtrade banana producer from Columbia will be at the stall from 11am to 3pm to talk about life for banana farmers.

Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, Bradford Council’s executive member for employment, skills and culture said: “I’m pleased the market is being used for this event.

"Four and a half million people visited our city centre markets last year so it's a real opportunity for the Fairtrade group to highlight what a difference it makes buying fairly traded goods."
