A 23-year-old man who bagged up cocaine to sell in deals on Bradford streets was jailed for two and a half years today.

Musician Dominic Williams returned to drugs when he was laid off as a trainee bar manager and became depressed, Bradford Crown Court heard.

Police searched his home in New Cross Street, West Bowling, Bradford, after he was seen behaving suspiciously in a car at 1.45am.

Prosecutor Richard Davies said Williams had a small amount of cannabis with him in the vehicle.

The raid on his home uncovered 30 small packages of cocaine and one bigger bag of the Class A drug, together valued at about £780.

Williams pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

He told police he was splitting an ounce of the Class A drug into 100 street deals.

Barrister Stephen Couch said Williams, who had no previous convictions, had once had a promising career in music but had left college.

He turned back to drug taking after losing his job in March last year.
