A woman has been arrested on suspicion of racially abusing a 16-year-old girl on a bus in Brighouse.

The teenager was on the number 626 Bradford to Brighouse service last Thursday when the alleged incident happened at about 1.20pm.

The 48-year-old suspect has been arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and released on bail.

Police said the abuse happened when the bus was between Hove Edge and Brighouse.

PC Matt Sykes, of the Lower Valley neighbourhood policing team, said: “I would ask for any witnesses to the incident to contact me on 101.”
