A once outstanding primary school has been ordered to improve by Ofsted.

Bradleys Both Community Primary, near Skipton, was graded outstanding in 2007, but has now been given a “requires improvement” rating in all areas.

Inspectors found teaching was not consistently good and that progress required improvement in maths and English.

Teaching in early years was not good enough, pupils’ behaviour was not always good and work set in some lessons was not sufficiently matched to abilities.

The report acknowledged there was good teaching at the end of key stage one into key stage two, which resulted in above average attainment in reading, maths and writing at the end of year two.
