A sign language-interpreted performance of Alhambra panto Aladdin will be held this weekend for youngsters from the Leeds Deaf Children’s Society.

The performance, on Sunday will be the third sign language performance of the show.

Louise McNamara, secretary of the Leeds Deaf Children’s Society, said: “The feedback we have had is always amazing, the children seem to enjoy it more each year. This year we have 160 deaf children and their families coming along.”

Over recent years, Bradford Theatres have been presented with awards for access provision, including twice for the Theatrical Management Association Award for Most Welcoming Theatre and twice for the Welcome to Yorkshire White Rose Awards for the category of Access For All.

General manager Adam Renton said: “Access is at the heart of Bradford Theatres; it is our belief that everybody should experience the joys of panto.”
