Police in Bradford have been taking part in an operation to stop illegal parking.

Officers in the City Neighbourhood Policing Team were called to the Summerville Road area after concerns from residents about parking problems, vehicles being used in an anti-social manner and noise.

They were also joined by officers from the special constabulary and wardens from Bradford Council.

Between 11pm and 1.30am, officers issued a cannabis warning after a vehicle was stopped and searched and 15 tickets were issued to vehicles found to have been parked illegally.

Inspector John Best, of the City Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “While it is good to see business thriving in Bradford it cannot be at the detriment of resident’s quality of lives in their homes.

“These patrols will continue and those found to be repeat offenders will be dealt with under anti-social behaviour legislation.

“I would like to urge anyone having problems in this area to get in touch with local officers to assist us build an accurate picture of the issues in this area.”
