Volunteers, supporters and Bradford City have been thanked after raising £2,581 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The money was raised in just two hours thanks to a bucket collection at City’s Boxing Day clash with Rotherham United at Valley Parade.

Dave Belmont, who was one of 30 volunteers on the day, said: “It was a great way to spend two hours over the Christmas period raising vital funds for people affected by cancer.”

Hayley Cooke, Bradford’s fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “A massive thank you to all the volunteers and supporters for raising such a fantastic amount of money to help fund our local services.

“We really appreciated the effort everyone went to for making the day a fundraising success for Macmillan.”
