Two people were taken to hospital after a vehicle flipped onto its side.

The incident, involving a Toyota people carrier, happened in Keighley town centre yesterday.

Keighley firefighters had to free a man and woman from the front seats of the vehicle.

The incident happened at the junction of Oakworth Road and West Lane just before12.45pm.

Watch commander Steve Moorhouse, from Keighley fire station, said: “When we arrived the vehicle was on its side and the lady and gentleman were trapped by the seatbelts.”

Firefighters took the man and woman out of the vehicle on boards so they could be treated by paramedics. They were then taken to Airedale General Hospital.

A spokesman for Airedale and North Bradford police said the injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
