Injunctions designed to help curb gang-related activity in Keighley have been confirmed against two men suspected of involvement in this type of crime.

The injunctions – known as “gangbos” – were finalised in Leeds County Court. It brings the number of anti-gang injunctions served against people in Keighley to 12.

Simon Atkin, the Bradford District chief superintendent, said: “In 2012, we identified that the 12 respondents were responsible for more than 40 gang-against-gang offences, involving serious violence, weapons and incidents of damage and arson, all of which had an immense impact on the community of Keighley.

“In 2013, since the injunctions were imposed, there have been just six.”
