Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Fraudster is seeking cash from residents in Lidget Green Fraudster is seeking cash from residents in Lidget Green

Residents of Lidget Green, Bradford, have been warned that a boy seeking sponsorship money is a fraudster.

A boy was seen knocking on doors in the area asking residents for sponsorship on Tuesday.

He claimed that he was doing this on behalf of his school and that it was for the Salvation Army or other charitable organisation.

A Police spokesman said: “His tale was false and the male is believed to have fraudulently obtained an amount of money by doing this.

“It is know that he managed to obtain this money from a number of local residents.

“Remember, if you are not sure if a caller at your door is genuine then ask for ID, don’t let them in, don’t give them money and if possible check anything they say to you by contacting their office/organisation.”

Anyone with information should contact police on (01274) 376788 or ganpt5@westyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.

Caution? Just read up on the local drug dealers who are committing serious crimes whilst still serving the existing punishment from perilous crimes! WTF is wrong with the stupid justice system. The police are doing a decent job with all the loop holes and hug a hoody policies that are passed down as great ideas from the government. This country is in a such a mess.

Ps its not just drug dealing scum who getaway with stuff it's also financial fraudsters wearing suits and hiding behind limited companies.

I was made aware of a so called disqualified company director who opens limited companies and then closes them after a year: from double glazing firms, comstruction management compaies to a new venture of supplying customers data/leads to other businesses; he's been doing this for years and I'll be surprised if he pays any taxes as most that know him know he claims benefits and is apparently milking the system.

Companies house been made aware of his activities and do not care. Customers have no chance of getting any money back as he hides behind limited companies. The police can't do much as its a civil issue. The people who work for him or with him tend not to get paid...don't bother him as he's too busy living it large here.

The whole system is designed for dodgy scammers.

What a joke.
