A headteacher has spoken of her pride at seeing three of her school’s students go on to represent England at rugby union.
Paul Hill, Jack Walker and Lewis Boyce, who honed their sporting skills as pupils at Prince Henry's Grammar School, all now play for their country at under 18 level.
In fact the trio all lined up together in the front row recently to help the national side secure a 23 - 3 win against Australia Schools.
Headteacher at Prince Henry’s, Janet Sheriff, said: “I am extremely proud of these three boys, and all the boys who are part of the AASE Rugby Academy at Prince Henry’s.
“This specialist programme, which supports talented youth level elite rugby players in partnership with Leeds Rugby, has gone from strength to strength in recent times.”
Head of the AASE rugby programme at the school, Andy Rock, added: “The challenge for them now is to keep progressing beyond Prince Henry’s and England Under 18s.”
