An online educational tool has won Bradford College a prestigious award for innovation.

The college was named as the first winner of the NEF Innovation Award for Best Example of Innovation in a STEM Course or Training Programme (Organisational).

The award was in relation to a virtual classroom tool for students.

For more than 60 years, the college has offered pharmacy qualifications, all in traditional classroom settings.

In 2011, the College was approached by the Royal Surrey County Hospital to deliver the BTEC level three diploma in Pharmaceutical Science as distance or blended learning, where lessons are delivered in a virtual classroom on a day release basis. Students are able to log in for sessions and be greeted by a tutor waiting to take them through the lesson.
