A former Ilkley man is looking for two experienced sailors who would like to join his crew and take part in the inaugural Caribbean Challenge.
On Sunday, January 12, several yachts will set sail from St Lucia on the inaugural Caribbean Challenge. One yacht – a 2013 registered 57 Jeanneau – will be captained by Neil Medley, a former Ilkley resident now based in the Isle of Man. Mr Medley has a crew of four but needs two more experienced sailors to join him when they board their flight on January 10. The challenge finishes on January 25. Mr Medley said: “The event is principally to raise money, and also to give sailors the experience of sailing the Caribbean.
