More news about Otley’s bid to create an Olympic legacy centre of sporting excellence is set to be revealed.
Organisers have been putting together a business plan for the Chevin Olympic Park after Leeds City Council gave the preferred – as yet unannounced – site a successful preliminary examination.
The committee for the project will meet again today to discuss what progress has been made.
The outline plan for the park envisages it as a centre that would put Otley on the map as a regional sporting hub, featuring:
* A sports hall and centrepiece athletics track, with synthetic football/rugby pitch in the middle
* Adjacent all-weather playing fields for football, rugby and hockey
* A cycle track, fitness studio, gym and meeting room.
