A herd of reindeer were spotted galloping around in the Aire Valley this weekend as a charity held a festive fundraiser.

An estimated record-breaking 250 men, women and children donned antlers in support of Yeadon-based Epilepsy Action, which held its fourth annual Reindeer Stampede in Roberts Park, Saltaire.

The 5k circular fun run, and mini circuit for children under eight, raised around £5,000 to support the 50,000 people affected by epilepsy across Yorkshire and 600,000 in the UK.

Charity Media Officer Caroline Simpson from the charity said everyone seemed to enjoy the family fun day.

“It went really, really well. There seemed to be an awful lot of people. I think we had a record amount of people there, around 250.

“Most were dressed-up in antlers, we had lots in onesies and some with flashing antlers, we even had a dog with antlers on! There were loads of kids cheering on their parents and they all had antlers on as well.”
