Bradford Bulls star Adrian Purtell and his teammates are encouraging people to get involved with Heart Research UK’s Sing for Your Heart campaign this Christmas.

Purtell is an ambassador for Yorkshire-based charity Heart Research UK after he suffered a heart attack during the Super League side’s Magic Weekend fixture against Leeds last year.

The player is keen to pass on advice about a heart-healthy lifestyle and encouraging people to help raise funds by singing for their hearts this December.

The charity is looking for singers, choirs, music groups and musicians to hold their own event in the run-up to Christmas.

Purtell said: “Research shows that singing is good for your heart and putting on your own singing event is a really easy way to raise funds whilst being heart healthy. It’s such a fun way to help heart research in the run up to Christmas and I know first-hand how important research into heart disease really is.”
