A Porsche-driving GP sold the sports car after he was caught speeding on the A59 at Beamsley Hill, Skipton magistrates were told.
Graeme Summers, 41, a GP in Ilkley, was caught in a police speed trap doing 86mph in the 50mph limit in his Porsche 911, the court heard.
Summers, who admitted in a letter to the court speeding on September 26, had since swapped the Porsche for a BMW diesel car.
Magistrates adjourned sentencing until January 3.
